Private areas, knocking & locking
Meeting rooms and booths: locking them, asking to come in, and sharing a link to one.
How private areas work
Inside a private area, everyone in it can hear each other and nobody outside can. The name of the area you're in shows at the top of the screen.
Locking an area
While you're inside, click the 🔓 lock button at the top left (or the lock next to Your current area in the Participants list). Now nobody else can walk in — they have to ask. Click it again to unlock. (Guests can't lock areas.)
Some rooms have a maximum number of people. When one is full you can't walk in until someone leaves — or request entry like a locked room.
Asking to come in (knocking)
- Walk up to the edge of the locked area.
- Click Request Entry (or press E).
- People inside get a card — “… is asking to enter” — with Allow and Deny. If they allow it, you're moved inside.
Links to an area
In the Participants list (Active areas), Copy a link to this area. Anyone who opens it lands right there — handy in a calendar invite.
